Fishing with an Inogen One portable oxygen concentrator

Mom has been in Assisted living for three years now.  This is the first real outing she has had in these three years all due to her new electric wheel chair and most importantly her new Inogen.Without the Inogen, she would not have attempted this outing due to having to take extra O2 tanks and the inconvenience of them.  What a wonderful change in her life, mine and Al's (mom's boyfriend) because of Inogen.  Al even bought her a stationary charger, go figure, and he makes sure she is charged up and ready to go. Mom's comments: "It was wonderful being able to get out and not worry about where my O2 was and having to carry a big ol tank.  We had a wonderful time and used not quite 2 batteries for the all day trip." Life is great again!

    Rennie loves her Inogen One

We love our Inogen, and it has made such a difference in my mother’s life. At 102 years old, you can imagine how difficult it was for her to navigate from one side of our home to the other with a long cord that would always seem to tangle itself around her feet, my feet, or the wheels of her walker.Because she had already had several falls, my sister and I were always worried that she would trip on that cord and fall again. Furthermore, anyone who has ever struggled with the tanks on wheels knows that it is virtually impossible to master getting through a door as you struggle to open that door for your loved one who is on a short “tether” (the oxygen line) and get them, the rolling tank, and yourself through that door, especially when there is no one there to help you hold the door. It’s like struggling to thread a needle with a bear in your lap! Inogen has made all the difference, and now she is much more willing to go out because before, she was worried about putting too much stress on my sister and me, who are both in our seventies. Again, for all these reasons and more, we love our Inogen. My mother has summed it up nicely: “ I know it has brought me more peace and confidence and it is a great blessing.”

I love the freedom that I have with the Inogen G-4. I was always a very active person and being confined mostly at home with what I had made me more depressed.I can now go and do almost anything, so I feel like my self again. Yea! I am so glad for this equipment that is so easy to use. Thank you for continuing to develop improvements and providing things that help me be independent.

Hi Kellie! I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for all you did to help us get this wonderful young man his Inogen tank! You were so helpful in every step of the process and made it so easy for us! Can't thank you enough! This is Omar at Tuesday nights baseball game wearing his Inogen proudly! You have no idea how much freedom you helped this young man get! He loves baseball and is a huge part of our Freer Buckaroo baseball team. And now he can be out on the field as "assistant coach" without any restrictions of hauling around a large oxygen tank. Again, Thank you so much for all you did!

My wife and I were scheduled to go on a cruise, when it was decided that I need oxygen 24/7 instead of just at night.</p/>

I call Inogen and Matt B. (who went far above normal customer service) worked with me, my doctor and the company to ensure that I got my Inogen G3 system.  I now use it during the day and when out of the house. Thank you Matt and Inogen for keeping my life simple and easy. I have no problem with recommending this company and unit.

  • Dear Life Changers, I would like to express my appreciation for the G3 concentrator I now possess. I can’t put into words how much your G3 device changes my life.

Dear Life Changers, I would like to express my appreciation for the G3 concentrator I now possess. I can't put into words how much your G3 device changes my life.  Every portable unit that I am aware of (other than yours) is heavy and unwieldy. That extra weight adds effort and more effort means more oxygen is required. I have asbestosis..a result of 30 years in the U.S. Navy. I do not begrudge that, I dearly loved my career. I just wish the VA was a little more positive with their actions in dealing with it. The VA thinks that I am lucky not to have MESO..I DON'T! I am slowly suffocating and will eventually die of O2 deprivation (if something else doesn't kill me first). I'm 75, that may happen. The VA is willing to pay for a home unit, but I need a portable unit. I HAVE A LIFE and THANKS TO YOU I don't intend to waste away on my sofa. At present, I do not need oxygen when sitting or "around the house" inconsequential movement. I only need O2 (or a lengthy break to recover) when exerting my core muscles or walking more than 100 feet (less if uphill). I'm glad I can still recover. My ability to absorb O2 is noticeably waning with time. Prior to getting your G3 unit, I had a (fairly) small portable unit provided through Medicare. It was heavy and hard to deal with if doing anything other than walking. They set their requirement for providing a unit to persons with a blood oxygen reading of 88. Well, mine was 90 and I had to turn my portable unit in or pay for it out of my pocket. It didn't matter that even medical people were shocked when seeing me huffing and puffing after any effort. When I had my knee replaced, my nurse refused to sign my release without being provided with O2. My blood oxygen was still at 90. She said and I quote, "Your face is gray!". When I heard (TV) about your unit, it's design and portability intrigued me. It is lighter than the other and much easier to use. I'll be getting the backpack and a second battery from you as soon as I can afford to and that will make it still easier to use. I have to closely monitor the use of my G3 unit right now to prevent running out of battery when I most need it. A second battery is very high mandatory, and thank you for the forethought to design the backpack. Your unit also has several features such as breath metering that I think are very nice. When I had the Medicare provided unit, I had to keep thinking "In thru the nose, out thru the mouth". That is not required with the G3. THANK YOU again.
